We have a little more information about Anthony Davis’s role in the 49ers offense on Monday Night Football.
Earlier Sunday, Matt Maiocco reported that Anthony Davis had returned to practice with the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. There was no further word on his status or that of the right guard for Monday’s season opener against the Los Angeles Rams. We now know a little bit more about his status.
A source has told our own Jennifer Chan that Davis is no longer the right guard. He will operate solely as the team’s backup offensive tackle. Cam Inman reported on Saturday that Andrew Tiller would play right guard if Davis did not return.
