Andy Lee changes number with Browns to honor late daughter

Former 49ers punter Andy Lee, who was recently traded to the Browns, has decided to make the last stretch of his NFL career mean something more than just wins and losses.

After 11 years of wearing No. 4, Lee has changed his jersey number to No. 8, to commemorate his late daughter Madelyn.

The significance of the eight is to represent the number of days before she passed away from post-birth complications.

"I think sometimes, not necessarily by me and my wife, her life can get overlooked. She was here, she was a person but nobody got to meet her, nobody got to see her,” Lee told the team's official website.
