Washington signed Mark Sanchez on Monday to serve as the new backup.
Until Sunday, McCoy hadn’t thrown a pass in the regular season since 2015. The Dallas game will be his first start since 2014. McCoy started for 21 games for Cleveland in 2010-11 and threw one pass for the 49ers in 2013.
