The NFL schedule gets fully unveiled this week, but the San Francisco 49ers know their season opener already. And for their opponent, it might feel like a cruel starting assignment.
The 49ers are set to open the season on Monday Night Football hosting the New York Jets and their star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. For the former Cal star who was traded to the Jets last offseason, it’ll be a second straight season of starting on Monday night.
Of course, last year’s game went horribly wrong almost immediately. On the Jets’ fourth offensive play of the game, Rodgers tore his Achilles while getting sacked by Buffalo defensive end Leonard Floyd.
