Aaron Lynch suspended four games for violating NFL substance abuse policy

Aaron Lynch will miss the first four games of the season following what would not be his first violation of the substance abuse policy.

Welp, so much for a quiet offseason. The San Francisco 49ers announced on Friday that outside linebacker Aaron Lynch has been suspended for the first four games of the 2016 NFL season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. There is no word on what specific drug caused the suspension, but a four-game suspension means this is not his first violation of the policy.

General manager Trent Baalke had this statement:

“While disappointed to hear the news regarding Aaron today, we support and respect the league’s decision.
