The San Francisco 49ers and Brandon Aiyuk still haven’t reached a new deal for the star receiver as the third week of training camp gets underway. The long stalemate has rumors of a trade kicking up again.
After an Aiyuk trade didn’t materialize during the NFL Draft in April, general manager John Lynch made it quite clear that the 49ers wanted to keep Aiyuk. In May, he said, “We’re past that now,” on the “Pat McAfee Show” on ESPN. Even after Aiyuk demanded a trade a week before training camp, Lynch held a press conference at the start of camp and reiterated the desire to keep Aiyuk in San Francisco.
