The 2014 San Francisco 49ers receiving game was bad.
Really bad.
San Francisco ranked No. 30 in the league in total receiving yards last year with just 3,063. That number was eerily close to the 30th-ranked placement in 2013 in which the 49ers amassed just 2,979 yards through the air.
Granted, there are lot of factors that went into this lowly achievement. The 49ers were, and probably will still be, a run-first offense. Play-calling concerns from former offensive coordinator Greg Roman were a popular scapegoat.
And then there was the maturation abilities of quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
