The now-infamous "Philly Special" trick play from Super Bowl LII has spawned a number of successful iterations from other NFL teams, but don't expect to see San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo catching a touchdown pass anytime soon.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters after a training camp practice Sunday that the offense attempted a variation of the play — which involves a throwback pass to a quarterback – but team owner Jed York wasn't exactly a fan.
"He said he really liked the play call that I had that Jimmy caught and made a cut right back into the defense," Shanahan said.
