Here is a review of all 20 of Colin Kaepernick’s drop backs during the preseason. A number of things stood out.
1. He threw 13 times, was sacked three times and ran four times.
2. The most glaring observation – Kaepernick’s inability to step up when he’s pressured. Often his first reaction to pressure was either to step sideways or backwards – not up in the pocket. Several times, I wrote, step up, step up, step up.
3. The second most glaring? – the lack of time. Particularly in Denver, Kaepernick had no chance. The biggest offenders were center Marcus Martin and right tackle Eric Pears.
