The San Francisco 49ers are scheduled to start mandatory minicamp, but a certain face will not attend, as NBC Sports’s Matt Maiocco shared that star wideout Brandon Aiyuk has not reported as he searches for a new deal.
Aiyuk, 26, has looked for a long-term extension this offseason, but the two sides have not come together on a deal, even with a number of star receivers earning massive extensions from their respective teams over the past few months.
By choosing to miss out on mandatory minicamp, Aiyuk could be fined up to $104,259 for the full three days, but he appears steadfast on receiving his new deal before returning to the team.
