Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the 49ers are bringing in free agent TE Cooper Helfet for a workout on Tuesday.
Helfet, 28, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Duke back in 2012. Since then, he’s been on and off of the team’s active roster.
Seattle re-signed him to a one-year, exclusive rights contract. However, he was waived and later reverted to their injured reserve list after clearing waivers.
The Seahawks later decided to waive Helfet back in August of last year and he signed on with the Raiders a few months later.
