The San Francisco 49ers are hosting a couple of skill players, per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. The team held a private workout for wide receiver DeAndre Thompkins of Penn State. Thompkins ran a 4.33 40-yard dash at the teams Pro Day. Thompkins caught 25 of his 49 targets for 322 yards and two touchdowns.
Thompkins returned a total of 66 kickoffs and punts during his college career, two of which resulted in Penn State touchdowns. He spoke about being able to do more at his Pro Day and why NFL teams value that:
“I’ve heard both [from NFL teams],” Thompkins said.
