The 49ers will sport a decal on the back of their helmet this season to recognize Hall-of-Fame offensive tackle Bob St. Clair, who died in April at 84.
The decal will feature a black football with St. Clair’s number (79) in white in the middle.
St. Clair, a San Francisco native who played at USF, was a team captain who spent his 11-year career with the 49ers. He was a nine-time first- or second-team all-NFL selection and is one 12 players to have his jersey retired by the 49ers.
