Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the 49ers have placed RB Mike Davis on waivers Thursday after they were unable to trade him during the draft.
Rapoport adds that Davis is expected to draw “real interest” as a free agent.
Davis, 24, was taken in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL draft by the. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2.28 million rookie contract and stands to make base salaries of $615,000 and $705,000 over the next two years of the agreement.
