The San Francisco 49ers no longer have to go into the upcoming 2019 season worrying about their kicker situation.
This, after the Niners came to terms with veteran kicker Robbie Gould on a four-year extension, which includes a two-year option after 2020.
On Tuesday, the team announced they had waived backup kicker Jonathan Brown. No corresponding move has been made just yet to the 90-man roster.
Brown, whom the San Francisco grabbed earlier this offseason, initially inked a two-year deal, which suggested he could possibly replace Gould, especially if the latter’s then-franchise tag holdout continued into the regular season.
