The house-cleaning continues.
The 49ers have waived center Marcus Martin, a third-round pick in 2014 who struggled while making 24 fill-in starts during his three-season tenure. Martin was the No. 70 pick in 2014.
The move comes a day after the 49ers released safety Antoine Bethea and two days after they parted with wide receiver Torrey Smith.
Martin, however, is the first played drafted by former general manager Trent Baalke whom the 49ers have released. He subbed for center Daniel Kilgore, who has missed 23 games over the past three seasons, and often failed to hold his ground.
