The 49ers on Monday waived outside linebacker Chase Thomas, who sustained a torn ACL during a workout before the start of the team’s official offseason program.
He was waived with the designation “non-football injury" to his right knee during a workout at Stanford.
Thomas, the former Stanford star, spent last season on the 49ers’ active roster for five games.
He recorded two special teams tackles. Thomas spent 11 weeks on the 49ers’ practice squad.
