49ers waive center Marcus Martin

SAN FRANCISCO — The 49ers roster continues to shrink in advance of Thursday’s start of free agency.

Center Marcus Martin, a third-round draft pick in 2014, was waived by the 49ers Wednesday, the team announced.

Martin played in five games with two starts before going on injured reserve on Dec. 31. Martin played in 26 games with 24 starts in three seasons after being selected out of USC during the tenure of former general manager Trent Baalke.
