The 49ers received a bit of good news on the injury front Friday afternoon As Elijah Mitchell practiced for the first time all week, and Trey Sermon was no longer wearing a blue non-contact jersey. Sermon was cleared from the concussion protocol and is good to go.
Though Mitchell practiced, Friday being his first of the week likely means he won’t play. Shanahan said he’s “really holding out hope that Elijah can go.”
Shanahan said he’ll be more patient with Mitchell, considering the other running backs are “still catching up.” If Mitchell’s shoulder can’t get injured anymore, then he’ll play.
