The 49ers scored their first opening drive touchdown — and first offensive first quarter touchdown of the 2015 NFL season — as they opened up fast and furious on offense. This complete change from normal was a welcome surprise for the Blaine Gabbert-led offense and suggested a slim ray of hope that Geep Chryst had learned from his play calling mistakes.
Alas, it was not meant to be.
After leading 7-0 and 14-10, the 49ers were able to tie the game at 17 before giving up a field goal at the end of the first half.
