SANTA CLARA — Who helped and hurt themselves in the 49ers’ exhibition finale Thursday night against the Los Angeles Chargers? Let’s take a quick look:
THREE STUDS
1. Defensive lineman Solomon Thomas: Holy smokes, he sure looked like a No. 3 overall draft pick, even if this was an exhibition finale against future car salesmen. Most encouraging was that his two tackles in the backfield came from the edge, where he’ll line up on base defense. At least he wasn’t the only 2017 first-round draft pick forced to play; Reuben Foster also played the first quarter and also had a tackle-for-loss.
