Cleveland Browns tight end Gary Barnidge will be at the forefront of the San Francisco 49ers’ defensive preparations for Week 14 as the two teams prepare to square off at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Both the 49ers and Browns have experienced their fair share of offensive and defensive woes in 2015. San Francisco ranks dead last on offense with 178 points scored, while Cleveland comes in at No. 31 with 216.
To prevent the gap differential from expanding, the 49ers defense will need to contain Barnidge at all points. He remains Cleveland’s best offensive weapon even if Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel — who gets the start Sunday — has just a 59.
