Any win at the NFL level is a good one, and such should be the case following the San Francisco 49ers’ 26-20 overtime victory on the road against the Chicago Bears in Week 13.
The 49ers pulled off the dramatic upset thanks, in large measure, to three plays: defensive back Jimmie Ward’s pick-six touchdown, quarterback Blaine Gabbert’s 44-yard touchdown scramble and the overtime 71-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Torrey Smith to seal the deal.
Yes, all three of those moments were critical to San Francisco’s efforts — ones leading to the 49ers’ first road victory of the season and the team’s fourth victory of 2015.
