The 49ers and Houston Texans are scheduled to play the final game of the first week of the NFL preseason schedule, which means both teams will have at least one fewer day of practice than other teams.
Per NFL rules, no veteran players (other than quarterbacks) can be required to report to the training camp earlier than 15 days before the team’s first exhibition game. The 49ers are set to play the Texans on Sunday, Aug. 14, at Levi’s Stadium in the exhibition opener for both teams.
The 49ers are scheduled to report to training camp on Saturday, July 30, the NFL announced on Friday.
