Kyle Shanahan is a young man with a sharp mind capable of recalling specific details about plays he called weeks, even years, in the past.
But the 49ers coach needed a cheat sheet on Monday to help him through his team's latest round of injuries. The list:
* He said tackle Garry Gilliam, tight end Cole Hikutini and safety Jaquiski Tartt would go on injured reserve. Gilliam and Hikutini suffered MCL sprains, Tartt broke his forearm. That gives the 49ers a league-leading 23 players who have gone on IR this year.
* Three rookies -- Receiver Trent Taylor, tight end George Kittle (ankle) and linebacker Elijah Lee (knee) -- won't play in the upcoming game against the Giants.
