Levi's Stadium, criticized for being too sterile, will begin paying more attention to the 49ers' gloried past.
During its state-of-the-franchise event Wednesday evening, the team revealed it will revive the ring of honor that decorated Candlestick Park but which, to the chagrin of fans, had been missing from Levi's Stadium.
Initial plans call for 26 famous 49ers to be honored on digital signage at the top of the suite tower on the west side of the stadium. A 27th name, former fullback Tom Rathman's, will be added when Rathman is inducted into the 49ers hall of fame during the season.
