49ers to sign QB Jack Heneghan, son of former team exec | The Sacramento Bee

The 49ers' undrafted rookie haul will include a quarterback, Dartmouth's Jack Heneghan, who is the son of former team executive Lal Heneghan.

The news was tweeted by Dartmouth's quarterbacks coach, Chris Rorke.

The elder Heneghan, who was a quarterback at Penn, served as executive vice president of football administration from 2006 through 2011. During that time Jack Heneghan played at Menlo High School.

Because he attended a local high, the younger Heneghan was able to take part in the 49ers' so-called "local" pro day a week before the draft.
