The 2018 season has come to a close for San Francisco 49ers running back Matt Breida and rookie wide receiver Dante Pettis, according to a Monday report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Each player suffered a game-ending injury during the Niners’ 14-9 Week 16 loss to the visiting Chicago Bears on Sunday. Breida, who has been dealing with varying injuries all year long, aggravated an ankle injury after just four carries and 20 yards in the game.
He’ll finish his second season at the pro level with 814 rush yards and three touchdowns.
