When the San Francisco 49ers return to the practice field, a pair of players who spent the first three months of the season rehabbing injuries will join them.
Jim Tomsula announced on Monday that Daniel Kilgore and DeAndre Smelter have been cleared to practice and will have their 21-day window opened this week.
Kilgore, a center who has been on the Physically Unable to Perform List since training camp, later said that he would participate in Monday’s team walk through. Smelter is a rookie wide receiver on the Non-Football Injury List.
By the end of the three-week practice period, the 49ers must decide whether to activate the players to the 53-man roster.
