The San Francisco 49ers may no longer hold the record for most Super Bowl victories ever. And if the New England Patriots pull off the victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII, they’ll wind up tying the Pittsbugh Steelers with six Lombardi Trophies, thereby pushing the Niners into third place on this heralded list.
Still, that’s a pretty hefty achievement. And there’s another, too.
San Francisco still owns the most dominant Super Bowl victory in NFL history — their 55-10 trouncing of the Denver Broncos back in Super Bowl XXIV in January of 1990.
