Wide receiver Bruce Ellington is questionable for the 49ers’ game Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers with an ankle sprain.
Ellington, who also handles kickoffs and punt returns, did not participate in Friday’s practice before the 49ers traveled to the East Coast. If Ellington is unable to play, undrafted rookie DeAndrew White would likely be among the team’s 46 active players.
Ellington had an 85-yard punt return nullified by penalties in the 49ers’ 20-3 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night. He appeared on just three snaps of offense but caught two passes for 5 yards.
Running back Reggie Bush was declared out for the game with a calf strain.
