A job is opening up on the 49ers’ starting offense, and candidates already are lining up to fill it.
Mike Person, the 49ers’ starting right guard much of the past two seasons, is getting released, according to ESPN.

His potential successors appear to be journeyman free agent Tom Compton and second-year 49er Daniel Brunskill.
Compton, 30, played last season for the New York Jets and has agreed on a one-year deal with the 49ers, a league source confirmed. NBC Sports Bay Area was first to report Compton’s deal.
