Despite constantly impressing on the gridiron, 49ers stars Fred Warner and Deebo Samuel showed Friday that not all athleticism is transferable.
At the San Francisco Giants’ home opener against the Padres on Friday afternoon, Warner and Samuel took the mound to throw the ceremonial first pitch together.
Actually, “throw” might be generous. Neither toss was great, but Warner’s was an absolute clunker:
The hometown crowd at Oracle Park immediately burst into laughter and even let out a few teasing boos. Warner’s throw bounced a little less than halfway to home plate, prompting him to launch immediately into a sheepish jog off the mound on his way to dap up Giants third base coach Matt Williams.
