One of the most important San Francisco 49ers players has now had to exit two of the three games this season to get fluids in his body — and is blaming his lengthy contract holdout as the reason why.
Left tackle Trent Williams briefly left the 49ers game late in the first half on Sundayand went to the locker room before halftime. The 49ers quickly reported it was for cramps, with Williams needing an intravenous (IV) injection at the half. Williams also left the Week 1 matchup against the New York Jets to get an IV.
