HOUSTON – First-round draft pick Arik Armstead played 55 percent of the 49ers’ defensive snaps Saturday night in the 49ers’ exhibition opener against the Houston Texans.
The 49ers’ defense got in a lot of work on a night in which the Texans ran 74 plays in Houston’s 23-10 victory. Armstead was credited with two tackles while playing 46 snaps. Only linebackers Shayne Skov, Eli Harold, Nick Moody and Corey Lemonier saw more action than Armstead, whom the 49ers chose with the No. 15 overall pick.
