The San Francisco 49ers are dealing with a plethora of injuries at running back this preseason. And with one final preseason game remaining — Thursday, Aug. 30 against the Los Angeles Chargers — the Niners are intending to bring aboard former Humboldt State running back Ja’Quan Gardner.
This, according to a report from NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco, who broke the news late Monday evening.
Injuries to runners Jerick McKinnon (calf), Matt Breida (shoulder) and Joe Williams (rib, hip) forced San Francisco to go out and grab 29-year-old veteran Alfred Morris early in the preseason.
