A large number of professional athletes, and football players in particular, have suffered a torn ACL in their career. I don’t have numbers, but we seem to hear more and more about it. I say all that to steel you for this revelation: The 49ers signed a player to their practice squad who tore his ACL in college.

He replaces DuJuan Harris, who was promoted to the 53-man roster for the 49ers Week 7 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. ESPN writer Mike Reiss discussed Sunseri’s role when he signed with the New England Patriots this summer.
