For the second time on Tuesday, the San Francisco 49ers waived an offensive lineman. This time, it was offensive tackle Willie Beavers. The team also signed RB Brandon Wilds. Beavers was the “next man up” at swing tackle when Shon Coleman went down with an injury during the first week of the preseason. Beavers played 67 snaps Week 1. In the past two weeks, he’s played a total of 13 snaps. Beavers was originally claimed off waivers by the 49ers from the Chicago Bears on May 3, 2019.
Wilds (6-0, 220) originally entered the NFL after signing with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 6, 2016.
