The San Francisco 49ers have signed right guard Mike Person to a three-year extension, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal is reportedly worth $9 million with $3 million guaranteed. Person played this past season on a one-year contract and was due to hit free agency on March 13th.
We’ll have to wait for more contract details, but this likely means Person is the guy at right guard this fall. Joshua Garnett competed for the role last year, but a training camp injury cut short that opportunity. It’s all but assured they will not pick up Joshua Garnett’s fifth year option.
