SANTA CLARA — Dekoda Watson, a reserve linebacker who led the Denver Broncos in special teams tackles in 2016, signed a three-year contract with the 49ers Friday, the club announced.
Watson (6-foot-2, 245 pounds) has played in 89 games with seven career starts.
Originally a seventh-round draft pick out of Florida State by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Watson becomes the 15th player to sign with the 49ers since the start of free agency.
The 49ers have signed two other linebackers — Malcolm Smith and Brock Coyle and have not signed three of their own unrestricted free agents at the position.
