The San Francisco 49ers released offensive linemen Jeremy Zuttah before a snap was played in their first preseason game. This opened a spot on the roster which they surprisingly filled with linebacker Sean Porter.
Porter was drafted in the fourth round of the 2013 draft by the Bengals and spent his first season on injured reserve after tearing his labrum in training camp. His second season with the Bengals ended in training camp as well with an ACL injury. He was released in November of 2015.
Porter was signed a month later by the Jaguars and spent some time on the practice squad before being promoted to the active roster in December.
