The 49ers have signed cornerback Will Davis, a 2013 third-round pick who has sustained two torn ACLs in a career that includes one interception and five pass breakups in 20 games with the Dolphins and Ravens.
The 49ers released wide receiver Rashad Ross, who was signed to a reserve/future contract in January, to make room for Davis on the roster.
In October 2015, two games after he was traded to the Ravens for a seventh-round pick, Davis sustained a torn ACL for the second time in 11 months. The ligament tears were on different knees.
