49ers sign DB Jarnor Jones to practice squad, release Ben Boulware

The San Francisco 49ers made a roster move on Tuesday, swapping out a player from their practice squad. The team announced they have signed defensive back Jarnor Jones and released linebacker Ben Boulware.

Jones (6’3, 205 pounds) entered the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons this year as an undrafted free agent. He was cut on September 1, and has been a free agent since. He attended Iowa State University for two seasons (2015-16), and before that attended North Carolina State University (2012-13) and Georgia Military College (2014). At Iowa State, he made 11 starts and appeared in 24 total games, finishing with 78 tackles, 11 passes defensed, three sacks, and one interception.
