The San Francisco 49ers announced they signed cornerback Jamar Taylor to the practice squad. Taylor spent training camp with the Niners and knows the defense well as he played with the starters for a few weeks while K’Wuan Williams was injured during training camp. Williams, who was battling a hip injury and was limited during Thursday’s practice, is likely still having issues, and that’s why the team added Taylor ahead of Sunday’s game against the Eagles.
If the starters were healthy, I’d imagine defensive coordinator Robert Saleh wouldn’t have any issue playing Jason Verrett outside with Emmanuel Moseley sliding inside to play the slot.
