The San Francisco 49ers signed cornerback B.W. Webb. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said there were plans to bring in a cornerback as Emmanuel Moseley, Dontae Johnson, and Tim Harris have all been sidelined and don’t appear to be returning within the next few days.
The team needs bodies, as Jason Verrett, Ken Webster, Ambry Thomas, Demmodore Lenoir, and Mark Fields have been dividing reps into the first, second, and third teams.
Webb played with 49ers senior defensive assistant James Bettcher when he was the Giants defensive coordinator in 2018, so there’s some familiarity.
Webb last played football in 2019, where he started 12 games with the Bengals.
