The 49ers addressed one of their most pressing deficiencies Tuesday when they signed ex-Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Leon Hall. The transaction was reported by ESPN.
San Francisco was struggling at the position heading into Sunday’s game, then lost two cornerbacks to injuries -- rookie Ahkello Witherspoon (concussion) and Asa Jackson (hamstring). A third, starter Rashard Robinson, left the game on two separate occassions, once because of cramps in his lower leg.
Hall, 32, spent nine seasons with the Bengals and last year with the New York Giants. His best season came in 2009 when he finished with 71 tackles and six interceptions.
