San Francisco 49ers running back Jerick McKinnon has experienced a setback according to KNBR’s Brian Murphy, citing team general manager John Lynch.
The four-year NFL veteran (all with the Minnesota Vikings) is coming off ACL surgery and was on the physically-unable-to-perform-list at the beginning of training camp. On Tuesday, McKinnon returned to practice after a three-week absence. Afterward coach Kyle Shanahan said “we’d love for (McKinnon) to be” in the mix for Saturday’s 53-man roster deadline.
But Shanahan cautioned “we have to make sure he’s healthy and (Tuesday) was the first process to get him out there and give us a chance to decide that.
