Anthony Davis wore his No. 76 jersey for the first time since 2014 and practiced with a healthier mind and body, which he attributed to last season’s abbreviated retirement.
Davis lined up as the third-string right tackle in Sunday’s first practice of training camp, to which he “felt like I was on a highway” in coach Chip Kelly’s fast-break offense.
Davis’ comeback drew the widespread support of his teammates, including left tackle Joe Staley and general manager Trent Baalke, both of whom were targets of Davis’ social-media criticism in recent months.
