The San Francisco 49ers have released veteran cornerback Jamar Taylor, per Tom Pelissero. Nickel cornerback K’Waun Williams recently returned to practice, and Taylor had been filling in for Williams. As the depth has improved at cornerback, moving on from Taylor isn’t a loss. The 49ers feel good about their top five cornerbacks: Richard Sherman, Emmanuel Moseley, Williams, Jason Verrett, and Ahkello Witherspoon. We didn’t think Taylor would make the roster.
Even with Verrett injured, he shouldn’t miss more than three weeks, per a buddy that’s an MD.
