Two days before the season opener, right guard Anthony Davis’ future with the 49ers’ is uncertain, although he is expected to renain with the team.
Davis, who stepped away from the NFL last year, did not attend the team’s practice Saturday morning because of a “personal matter,” a source said. The 49ers have listed him as questionable for Monday’s game against the Rams for a reason that is “not injury related.”
The San Jose Mercury News first reported Davis was mulling retirement, after he left the league in June 2015 to let his “brain and body” heal.
